Which fashion capital is your street style look paying homage to?

First up, London, where the trend felt during London Fashion Week Men’s (as seen at Balenciaga and Vetements) has hit the streets. Sophisticated styling with heavy proportion play are the looks to note. Keep it edgy with handwriting inspired by the work of Demna Gvasalia, pulling together seemingly incongruous pieces – think overly long or cropped designs blending the smart and casual with artful ease. Top it off with eccentric accessories. As the weather heats up, colour becomes the thought of the day. Fun and quirky, we spotted many a vibrant statement in the form of bold baseball caps and perennial trucker jackets, updated via embroidery and badges. All-over conversational prints lend new direction to shirts and tees.

A clean, contemporary vibe was admired in Paris with a strong sports edge dominating many looks. Trainers prevailed; the finishing touch to outfits with relaxed appeal. Hybrid styling is key with laidback tees and hooded sweats paired with more formal trousers, then accessorised with leather belts. There’s a nod to the urban athletic movement as blazers blend with everyday tracksuit trousers.

Over to Berlin and it’s all hail a fusion of street, sport and skate elements. A hit from high-end designers and high-street brands, looks in this domain are simple but powerful. A tight and considered colour palette utilises cobalt blue, optic white and bright red (a micro trend in itself) – at once commercially understandable whilst also invigorating key items. With sporty layering comes chain necklaces, cross-body bags, jumpers tied nonchalantly around the waist, plus wet-look jackets.

Next to New York, where 1980s and 1990s street style prevails. For menswear, this means rolled or raw edge mid-blue stonewashed jeans, cropped in tapered fits for summer. Check out embroidered slogans or multiple badges across baseball caps and retro sports jackets for a cool, contemporary spin. For those seeking to make a statement this summer, experiment with dapper knotted neckerchiefs, new metallic sneakers and long pendant chains.

Last but not least, Milan’s street style stars played host to a riot of exuberant prints, rainbow colours and bold design. The fashion pack is seen in decorated silks adorned with standout prints, cut loose and pyjama-like. Cuts are relaxed but the casual feel is lessened through elaborate Baroque influences that dominate alongside traditional Chinese patterns. See cheeky conversational prints and shorts for newness. However, head-to-foot looks win over separates for those that need to turn heads.
