Going back to school after a long, long summer or being back in the office after a dream holiday calls for a seriously stylish outfit (to distract from the hard work ahead).
Back to basics
This season, think about going back to basics and tap into the popularity of past movements (such as normcore). Being basic doesn’t mean being boring – fill your wardrobe with polished accessories and sophisticated essentials.
Next season top tips
Moving into AW, focus on mid-weight knits or soft rib-knits to offset denim. Try T-shirts accented with stripes in lightweight jersey or cotton, and cuffed details that feature on jeans or T-shirts – an important finish for this minimalist trend.
Take a look at River Island’s collection for fall-winter 16 via EyeFitU, which presents casual outerwear and denim. From faux leather biker styles and bomber jackets to pea coats, laidback vibes are presented alongside slick tailoring.
Wear boyfriend or mom jeans to replace the skinny, paired with oversized crew neck T-shirts, basic sweatshirts or shrunken tops. Last but not least, accessorise with minimalist ring sets to complement a neutral-coloured watch with white trainers and a leather backpack elevating the trend and lending a cool factor.
Good luck on your first day back!
